Camp Enterprise 2010 was a huge success due to the continued dedication of many Rotarians and the perfect roster of hand selected high school juniors who attended the camp. The theme this year was “Decisions on the Fly.” Students learned that by constantly growing and improving skills, decisions become instictive in the workplace (and in life).
Highlights of the camp included the students taking the DISC work style profile and learning how different types of workstyles operate with each other for optimum performance. Campers then took a road trip to Northeastern State University to meet and work with the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) group. Boldness and integrity were the two topics discussed.
Students were also treated to a roster of great speakers including the always compelling President-Elect Bob McKenzie, who empahisized that everyone could be whatever they want to be in life. President Del Dreyer also spoke after the very popular “Steak Night.” And, guest speaker Todd Huston spoke about achievement despite the odds.
During the long weekend, students also experienced team building and trust through participating in the new ropes course at the camp. They also received awsome intro to the free enterprise systems (and oh so much more) from Harvie Roe who faciliatated the Titan (business simulation) competition.
Thanks go out to everyone who participated this year.
